James has been studying the bass for over 15 years. While at the University of Georgia pursuing his music degree, he studied jazz bass under Dave D'Angelo, former band leader of the Buddy Rich Orchestra. He also studied classical double bass under world renown double-bassist Dr. Milton Masciadri. 

James has played with a variety of groups over the years; everything from garage rock, to tango projects, to state and county symphonies. As a studio musician he has recorded extensively with classical, jazz, and church music groups.

His in depth knowledge and understanding of bass techniques, rhythms, and improvisation skills, equip him to add a wealth of experience to any group he partakes in.
